Geoff is a trusted advisor and strategist with a diverse white collar, securities enforcement, employment, and complex commercial civil litigation practice.
He has built a strong reputation as a tireless advocate for his clients, successfully advising and defending boards, companies and individuals in a wide variety of civil and regulatory matters and litigation, including shareholder class actions, derivative actions, consumer class actions, internal investigations, enforcement actions by the DOJ, SEC and other federal and state agencies, employment disputes, complex commercial disputes and FCA qui tam litigation.
Geoff’s practice covers matters that have involved allegations of securities fraud, insider trading, FCPA violations, money laundering, and/or other financial crimes, unfair competition, theft of trade secrets, unlawful termination, sexual harassment and discrimination claims.
Geoff also previously lived and worked in India and France while serving as a United States diplomat, an experience that informs his problem-solving approach on behalf of his clients. As a result, his practice also has an international component that includes successfully representing Indian biotechnology companies, Middle Eastern banks, Swiss and UK Hedge Funds, French and Swiss insurers, the President of a Central Asian University, and the CEO of a Chinese Energy Company.
Government Service
Geoff clerked for US District Judge Charles Metzner for the Southern District of New York and US Court of Appeals Judge Robert Cowen for the Third Circuit.
Geoff also served as a Vice-Consul in the American Consulate in Mumbai, India, and as a Second Secretary in the Political Section of the American Embassy in Paris, where he received a Meritorious Honor Award for his work in support of the 1997 NATO-Russia Summit in Paris.
