Clark Smith Villazor LLP, launched earlier this month, is pleased to announce that Jeff Rotenberg has joined the firm as a partner. Rotenberg comes to Clark Smith Villazor after over a decade as a partner and leading financial services litigator in the New York office of a large international law firm. He brings extensive experience and a track record of success representing public and private companies and individuals across a wide range of high-stakes matters, frequently involving multi-jurisdictional and cross-border issues.
Rotenberg’s recent highlights include securing the dismissal of a securities class action complaint in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York as lead counsel for the Spain headquartered issuer defendant, and successfully arguing before the Second Circuit for affirmance of an order of dismissal for lack of personal jurisdiction on behalf of two Lebanese commercial banks in a litigation relating to Lebanon’s financial crisis.
“We are excited to welcome Jeff to the firm,” said Chris Clark, Founding Partner, Clark Smith Villazor. “Jeff is a tremendous value add for our clients and is an ideal match for us. We’ve received a tremendous welcome from our legal industry peers since launching and are confident that Jeff will increase that and play a significant role as a leader at our firm as we continue to grow.”
Patrick Smith, Founding Partner, Clark Smith Villazor, added: “I have known and worked with Jeff for several years, and know what he brings to the table. He is someone we targeted and is a great get for the firm. Jeff will further enhance the value we deliver to clients as we work with them to solve their most difficult business challenges.”
“I’m thrilled to join Chris, Pat, and Rodney and the growing bench of talent at Clark Smith Villazor,” said Rotenberg. “I look forward to contributing to the firm’s efforts in working with and assisting global institutions, their leaders, and high-profile individuals navigate their most complex, pressing legal matters.”
Rotenberg earned his B.A. from Columbia College with a concentration in Political Science and graduated from Columbia Law School.
